# Why Links in Saved PDF Reports Expire After 28 Days

## Why do links in saved PDF reports stop working?

**Links in saved PDF reports stop working because they expire 28 days after the report is created, due to copyright restrictions.** Once expired, those links can no longer be opened — but the PDF file itself remains accessible.

## How does this affect shared reports?

If you share a report as an Automated PDF Media Report, the report itself can still be opened, but the individual article links inside it will stop working after 28 days. This includes links in any previously saved or shared versions of the same report.

## What to expect from PDF report links

- Article links are accessible for up to 28 days from the report creation date.
- After 28 days, links expire due to copyright restrictions and can no longer be opened.
- Expired links cannot be reactivated. Generating a new report creates fresh links for newly included content only — it does not restore access to links from a previous report.

## What to do when a link no longer opens

1. Check whether the linked article is older than 28 days by comparing the report creation date (shown in the report header or file name) to today's date.
2. Read the report text and any saved article summaries or excerpts directly within the PDF.
3. Create a new report if you need fresh links for recently added or new content — note that this will not restore access to articles from an expired report.
4. To preserve access before links expire, download and save the full article content from within the platform while the links are still active.
